Take part in a workshop

Intrigued by artificial intelligence? Concerned by algorithmic management? We invite you to participate in a hands-on workshop lasting approximately 2 hours at the Université du Québec à Montréal. You’ll be part of a group of 4 workers from diverse backgrounds and will be guided by a facilitator who will invite you to embody a fictional worker and simulate an online text conversation on a private, workshop-exclusive Slack channel. In a safe, educational, and fun environment, you’ll experiment with an artificial intelligence technology that analyzes your messages. We’ll provide you with a laptop and dummy logins that will be used solely for the purposes of the workshop.  

As researchers interested in the use of this technology, we aim to observe how you decipher its operation, achieve your goals, and navigate perceived limitations or obstacles. The workshop will conclude with a one-on-one session and a group discussion during which the researchers will gather your feedback.  

A $50 compensation offered : To reimburse your travel expenses and thank you for your time, we’ll offer you $50. To qualify, you must be employed (either salaried or self-employed) in sectors related to the knowledge and service economy, have already used an online communication platform for work (e.g., Teams, Slack, etc.), and be available on one of the proposed dates.
